NORMAN KAMERLING
Is a Painter and Craftsman based in Woodstock, NY

Norman Kamerling is a self-taught artist who has been drawing and painting since the early 1970’s. He cites artists Jackson Pollack and Pablo Picasso as major influences in the development of his own style, as well as the culture, art and spirituality of the Southwest Native American Tribes such as the Navajo and Hopi.
“Nothing is planned in advance,” says Norman about his work. “The energy and inspiration for each piece flows through me from the universe; my paintings are a channel for that spiritual energy.”
Norman is also an accomplished Jazz saxophonist. Many of his paintings are visual interpretations of the freeform and improvisational music he plays and listens to.
A long-time Woodstock resident, Norman has shown his work at the Bank of America gallery, The Lace Mill gallery and at The Turquoise Lady gallery. His work also hangs in private collections.
His inventory includes larger paintings and pieces, which can be viewed at his studio in Woodstock by appointment.
